Hong Kong Disneyland feels very different from the giant Disney parks in Tokyo, Shanghai, or Orlando. It is smaller, easier to navigate, and much less exhausting, which is exactly why many travelers end up loving it.

If you are visiting Hong Kong with kids, planning your first Disney park day, or simply want a more relaxed theme park experience, this is one of the easiest castle parks to enjoy in a single day.

This guide keeps the planning side simple: how to get there, when to go, how much to budget, and how to structure your day well. For lands, rides, shows, and activities inside the park, I have linked the dedicated Hong Kong Disneyland page below.

Getting to Hong Kong Disneyland

Getting to Hong Kong Disneyland is refreshingly straightforward. For most travelers, the MTR is the easiest option and honestly part of the fun too.

The easiest option: MTR

The MTR is the best and most convenient way to reach Disneyland. If you already have an Octopus Card, that is all you need for both the regular MTR network and the Disneyland Resort Line.

  1. Take the MTR to Sunny Bay Station (on the Tung Chung Line)
  2. Change to the Disneyland Resort Line (a special Disney-themed train)
  3. Get off at Disneyland Resort Station
  4. Walk 5 minutes to the park entrance

The Disneyland Resort Line train is decorated with Mickey Mouse windows and Disney characters. It's part of the experience, so take photos!

Taxi

If you want the most direct route, a taxi is comfortable and convenient, especially if you are traveling with children or returning late after the nighttime show. It does cost noticeably more than the MTR.

Hotel shuttle

If you're staying at a Disney hotel (Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel or Disney Explorers Lodge), free shuttle buses run regularly between the hotels and the park.

Tickets and timing

Hong Kong Disneyland usually opens at 10:00 AM and closes between 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM, depending on the season.

  • Weekdays: Usually less crowded, closes around 8:00 PM
  • Weekends & Holidays: More crowded, stays open until 8:30 PM
  • Special Events: During festivals or special events, the park may have extended hours

Always check the official Hong Kong Disneyland website before your visit for exact opening hours on your chosen date. Once the nighttime show ends, a huge chunk of the park heads straight for the MTR, so expect a brisk walk back to the station.

Ticket prices are not fixed year-round, but these are the usual ranges as of 2026:

  • Weekday Price: 669HKD or 85 USD or 8150 INR
  • Weekend Price: 759HKD or 97 USD or 9300 INR
  • Special Days: During festivals, tickets may be priced higher

Children under 3 years old enter FREE.

Where to buy tickets

  1. Online (official website)
  2. At the park entrance - May have to wait in line
  3. Klook - Almost always has good deals and discounts
  4. Agoda and other OTAs - Sometimes they surpass the deal you get on Klook so do check them out

Buy tickets online in advance to save money and time. You can go straight to the entrance without waiting at the ticket counter!
